Bacon Weekly - February 27 - March 3, 2023

Jump Rope for Heart

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School)

We will complete February this week and enter in to March. You know what they say? March comes in lion and out like a lamb. We accomplished a lot during February.  Our Jump Rope for Heart was very successful. We beat our goal of $1,500 and ended raising $1,644.77. Ms. Anton's class raised the most money with $230! They will receive a Fruit Pizza courtesy of Ms. Candy! The top 4 students who raised money were Conor McClintok, Violet Richter, Nehemiah Brown, and Nala Brown. These students had lunch with Dr. Cook this past Friday!

We also want to congratulate Cali Hines, Adrianna Williams and Hope Andrews for a great performance at the All City Concert at Lakeside!

This week we are rescheduling our PTO meeting for March 6, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Bacon Library.

Read Across America

Mrs. Holiday created a Character Scavenger Hunt.

  • There are 10 book characters hidden throughout the school.  These characters will be in places that ALL students visit throughout the week – for example, the art room or library.  Throughout the week, the goal is for students to find the characters.
  • Each morning, Dr. Cook will also be reading a bookish quote on the announcements and a character to find.  The first three teachers to email Mrs. Holiday the location will receive extra points for the Character Scavenger Hunt – 5 points for the first to email, 3 for the second, 2 for the third.
  • The winning class will get cookies during lunch and their teacher will get an extra 30 minute prep period, provided by Mrs. Holiday! ðŸ˜Š

Room 16 News

Bacon Weekly - February 13-17, 2023

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

We had another great week here at RM Bacon. This week we acknowledged our school counselors with a Spirt Week. Each day of the week we celebrated one of the attributes that the counselors bring to us. We are so appreciative of Ms. Sacco, Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Fleck and Mrs. Panas! We couldn't run the school without your assistance!

We celebrated our 100th day of school on Friday! That is a major milestone for our school year as we are more thank 1/2 way through.

And this goes without saying... GO EAGLES we hope you are able to win another Super Bowl!
