Bacon Weekly - April 15 - 19, 2024

Bubbles for Autism

Bacon Bears,

It's been a whirlwind of activity at Bacon Elementary recently, with engaging events and activities keeping both students and staff busy. Last week was particularly eventful, with memorable experiences ranging from a stunning Eclipse viewing to meaningful initiatives like Bubbles for Autism. Let's take a moment to recap the highlights and look forward to what's in store for the coming week!

Eclipse 2024:

Last Monday, Bacon Elementary transformed into an outdoor observatory as students and staff gathered to witness a rare celestial event: a spectacular Eclipse viewing. With protective glasses on hand and eyes turned skyward, everyone marveled at the awe-inspiring sight of the moon passing in front of the sun. It was a moment of wonder and scientific discovery that will surely be remembered for years to come.

Bubbles for Autism:

On Tuesday, Bacon Elementary proudly participated in Bubbles for Autism, an initiative aimed at raising awareness and fostering acceptance of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Students and staff came together to blow bubbles of joy and understanding, spreading love and inclusivity throughout our school community. It was a heartwarming display of compassion and empathy that exemplifies the spirit of Bacon Elementary.

Preparedness and Safety:

Ensuring the safety and preparedness of our students is always a top priority at Bacon Elementary. Last week, our car riders and walkers participated in bus evacuation drills, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to stay safe in the event of an emergency, especially during field trips. These drills reinforce our commitment to maintaining a secure learning environment for all.
