Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

Welcome back, Bacon Bears! We hope your New Year is off to an amazing start. As we dive into the second week of 2024, RM Bacon Elementary School has some exciting events lined up for you. Get ready for a week full of health, motivation, and of course, the Bacon spirit!

K-1 Vision Screening in the Library - January 11, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Ensuring the well-being of our Bacon Bears is a top priority at RM Bacon. On January 11th, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, the Library will be hosting K-1 Vision Screening. It's a fantastic opportunity to keep a close eye on your child's vision health. Our dedicated team will be there to make sure every student has the clearest view of their bright academic future!

Reminder - Class wide Award program through PBIS

We are starting the class award program this month.  Here are the areas that your class can earn an award.

Gym – Golden Sneaker; Art – Golden Paintbrush; Spanish – Golden Sombrero; Technology – Golden Mouse; Library – Golden Book; Music – Golden Music Note; Cafeteria – Golden whisk; Custodians – Golden Trash Can

All the special area teachers will base their selection on the class that is prepared for class, finds their seats quickly and shows that they are ready to get started.  They will also follow all school rules during class.  In the cafeteria each class will keep their area clean, use inside voices, and follow the directions given by cafeteria staff.  The custodians will base their pick on the classroom that keeps their rooms neat and clean  (policing the floor and desktops at the end of the day).  The winning classes will be announced at the PBIS assembly each month and given the trophy to display for that month.  A certificate will also be placed in the school lobby for visitors to see our winning classes.

Each class can earn more than one award in a month and throughout the remainder of the year.

Motivation Monday

Let's kick off the week with a burst of positivity and motivation! Whether you're a student, teacher, or parent, Motivation Monday is a chance to start the week on a high note. Share your favorite quotes, stories of success, or personal mantras with the #MotivationMonday hashtag and inspire others in the Bacon community. Our Staff Meets in the Library each Monday at 8:40 AM to share positive stories and quotes with each other. These sessions are lead by Dr. Cook.

Workout Wednesday - Wear Your Workout Clothes

A healthy body equals a healthy mind! Wednesday is dedicated to physical well-being. Wear your workout clothes and get ready to engage in some fitness fun. Whether it's a quick stretch, a dance break, or a full-on workout session, let's move together and show off our Bacon spirit in motion.
