Bacon Weekly - June 9 - 13, 2025

Strawberry Shortcake Day at Bacon

 Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve officially arrived at the last full week of the 2024–2025 school year! As we head into these final days, there’s still so much to celebrate, experience, and enjoy together as a Bacon family. From field trips to special presentations and beloved traditions, this week is packed with meaningful moments that highlight the energy and spirit of our school.

We kick things off on Monday with a School Safety Team meeting at 10:00 AM. On Tuesday, our 2nd graders head out on their field trip, and we’ll also hold our final I & RS meeting of the year. Wednesday brings even more excitement with the 4th grade field trip, a visit from BookSmiles, and the 3rd Grade Marine Life Parent Presentation at 2:00 PM in the gym. On Thursday, our kindergarten teachers will visit CFC to support our rising students. Then on Friday, we close out the week with one of our most beloved traditions—the annual Staff vs. 5th Grade Floor Hockey Game at 2:00 PM, a spirited event that’s been part of Bacon’s legacy for over 50 years!

This week at Bacon, we’re celebrating two incredible women who have made a lasting impact on our school community.

First, we want to send our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Workman, who recently became Mrs. Smith! We’re so happy for her as she begins this exciting new chapter in her life. We wish her all the love and happiness in her marriage and are incredibly grateful to have her as part of our Bacon family.

We also want to take a moment to honor a very special member of our team, Mrs. Muhlbaier, who is retiring after 31years of dedicated service to RM Bacon. Over the years, she has worn many hats—RTI teacher, 5th grade teacher, and Safety Patrol advisor. She’s been a mentor to countless students and teachers and the driving force behind our Healthy School Initiative, organizing monthly wellness events, Turkey Day, and so many other memorable activities. Her commitment to our school and students has left a lasting legacy, and while she will be deeply missed, we wish her nothing but joy and relaxation in her well-deserved retirement.
