April 10 - 13, 2017

Bears,

We had another fun week of learning here at Bacon.  Our teachers are doing a great job of engaging the students with thoughtful lessons (see pics below).  As we head into the 4-day week leading up to spring break, we are going to keep the pedal to the metal!  No rest until Friday!!

The Civil Air Patrol did an aerodynamics lesson with our GT students which involved flying drones in our gym.  Any day you get to fly something is a great day.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department held a school-wide assembly on gun safety.  K-9 officer Johnson did a great job with the students, and our Bears paid attention to the important content.  As officer Johnson stated, it's not anyone's job to tell adults if they should or shouldn't keep guns in the house - that's a personal decision.  What's important, however, is that kids know what to do should they unexpectedly find one - at a friend's house, in the street, at the park, etc.  The tips and information shared was all about keeping our young people safe.  Thanks goes to officer Johnson and the entire Sheriff's Department for doing your part to educate us and keep us all safe.

Plans are well underway for our spring Community Night on 5/22.  We'll get more detailed information to you after spring break.  If you have any questions at this point, feel free to call the school.

That's all for this week.  Have a strong, productive 4-day week!  Keep being great.
