February 23 - 27

Bacon Bears,

Focusing on Today, Tomorrow, and the Future!

As we thaw out from the frigid temperatures, and dig out from this weekend's snow, we have another awesome week planned at RM Bacon.

On Monday at 6:00 PM, we are encouraging parents to attend the PARCC Parent Night at Culver. This session will provide an overview of the PARCC and allow parents to understand what the test is assessing. Our students in 5th grade will be taking the PARCC starting next Monday.

On Tuesday at 6:00 PM, we are hosting our annual Pizza Bingo in the Bacon Gym. Come out and support our school as you have the chance to win prizes donated by local businesses! We will also have a DJ for the event to get you up and moving around!

February 16 - 20

Bacon Bears,

There is no school on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 due to in-climate weather :(

Focusing on Today, Tomorrow and the Future!

It is clear that we are in the cold part of winter! The past few weeks we have seen some frigid temperatures, and it looks like this week will be more of the same. Be sure to bundle up, and please know that we do not have Safety Patrol on duty outside if it is under 20 degrees!

We had our first Valentines Day Dance in quite a long time! The dance was a success! The students had a great time. I want to thank all of the parent volunteers for helping us out. A big shout out to Mr. and Mrs. Cooper for being the DJs.

The students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades are in PARCC mode. They have been testing out the laptops, and even logging onto a few of the practice sites to get prepared. The first set of assessments will be upon us in a few short weeks. I hope everyone received their letter about the PARCC and the PARCC Parent Night scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2015 @ 6:00 PM at Lakeside Middle School. This session will be very informative for parents and community members.
