RM Bacon Weekly: May 22

Bears,

Last week, we celebrated Bacon's Staff Appreciation Week. With the PARCC test behind us, it was a good opportunity to do a few nice things for all the great people who work hard each and every day. Throughout the week, we gave away gift cards (done through live drawings on the intercom). The students loved hearing their teacher's name called out, and each class hoped their teacher would be the lucky one picked. Also entered into the drawings were our aides, cafeteria workers, security guard, nurse, guidance counselor, and custodial staff. A fortunate teacher even won the prize of being able to leave school an hour early. To wrap up the week, our awesome cafeteria staff set up an Italian soda bar and strawberry shortcake station for all to enjoy.

Each day, I'm thankful to you all for the hard work and the student-centered focus with which you approach your job - from cleaning the halls to preparing meals to delivering top-notch instruction. As I often say, keep being great.

Monday night (weather permitting) is our second Community Night of the year. We hope you all can join us for a great evening of fun. The event will run from 6-8. If you have any questions, please call the school. We will be monitoring the weather throughout the day. As of right now, it looks like a wet morning with the rain moving out by event time. As long as the blacktop areas and fields aren't a complete disaster, we'll keep it as planned. If things look too messy, we'll make a call by early afternoon to postpone the event until Tuesday.
