Bears,

Another week of learning opportunities and fun events is in the books.

Last week, our Bears participated in a Millville Police vs. Bacon school floor hockey match, the 5th grade safety patrol leaders went to Wildwood (along with other schools in the district) to engage in leadership and team building, and both our teacher and educational services providers were recognized at a countywide lunch and ceremony.  Thank you Millville PD for making time for our Bears - they loved it, and we appreciate all you do the for the school and community.

Our staff also got to spend some time together off campus.  A number of adult Bears went go-karting at the New Jersey Motor Sports Park, and on Saturday, a group of Bears saw the the motivational and highly entertaining principal Gerry Brooks.  A school family that plays together, stays together.  Great job Bears in keeping the school spirit alive in and out of school!

Bears,

Wow!  Whew!

This was a fun-filled, action packed, full-out rockin' week here at Bacon.  This week alone, we had our spring concert at the Levoy, our Community Night, we participated in a successful Guinness world record attempt (largest ever participation in a heath lesson via multiple locations), and we rounded off the week with Olympic and Fun Days.  Let's collectively catch our breaths!  It took everyone being at the top of their game just to make it to Friday, but we did that and more.  The concert was great, Community Night was a hit, the world record attempt was a once-in-a-lifetime event that our 5th graders will never forget, and our Olympic and Fun Days were the usual good times.  Thanks to all who helped, participated, or attended these in any capacity.  Bacon pulled together and made it all happen!  And an extra thank you to all our friends and families for your support, encouragement, and help.  We are truly blessed and honored to have so many wonderful families stand beside our school and help make it the great place of learning and fun that it is.  Thank you.

The calendar for the rest of the year is loaded.  Be sure to check below in order to stay on top of things.  It's hard to believe, but we are officially less than a month away from the end of the year!

Enjoy the three-day weekend, and please don't forget to take a minute and remember those who paid the highest sacrifice for our freedoms.  To those who gave all, my sincere hope is that we live our lives and conduct ourselves in this society and this great land in a manner worthy of your heroism, and may we enjoy our freedoms with responsibility, humility, mutual respect for one another, and with charity for all.
