Happy Mother's Day to all our mothers in the RM Bacon Community!
Good luck to the 3rd graders this week as they take the End of the Year portion of the PARCC. We are hoping that everyone will be on time and present!
On Friday, Dr. Cook had two assemblies to discuss updates on discipline at RM Bacon. Traditionally, the end of the year presents many challenges for students, and we see a rise in minors, and major office discipline referrals. He challenged the students to break the cycle. During the assembly he reviewed the following:
- Our rules are very simple... Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful.
- Disruption comes in many forms, and the students shared what they have been seeing such as talking while the teacher is talking, getting out of seats without permission, and being disrespectful to other students and teachers.
- We still have plenty of time left in the school year. We are focused on finishing out the year in the best way possible.
- Respect all of our staff members the same.
- We have a Tradition of Excellence! Let's make our parents, teachers, and community proud of RM Bacon Elementary!
Teacher Appreciation Week was a great success! Teachers were selected each day for early outs, They were treated to a breakfast by Dr. Cook on Thursday, and a luncheon by the HSA on Friday. One Wednesday of this week they will receive Free Massages from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM by Dr. Brooke.
There is still time to sign up for the Badminton Tournament sponsored by the 3rd grade class. Tournament begins at 5:00 PM. For more information, please email amanda.devita@millvillenj.gov
