Bacon Bears,
This was a tough RM Bacon Weekly to write. It just hit me that this is my last RM Bacon Weekly as Principal of RM Bacon School. What started out 4 years ago as an idea, has turned into so much more. We were able to create the RM Bacon Weekly as a forum to connect students, parents, staff and the community. We were able to accomplish that in a short amount of time.
RM Bacon Weekly by the numbers:
The RM Bacon was (and will be) the hub for our school to tell OUR STORY. I am so happy that it will be continuing. Prior to the new Principal, Mrs. Devita has agreed to keep it going!
I am usually not at a loss for words, but I want everyone to know I am so grateful that I was a part of the RM Bacon community for the past 5 years! I have learned so much from the students, parents, teachers, staff and community. I am excited about going to Lakeside Middle School, but I will truly miss the Bacon Bears!

Coaches Corner - by Mr. Hudson
This week I had the opportunity to read to Mrs. Munzenmayer’s Kindergarten class. It was exciting to see how eager the class was to have a story read to them. The story I read was called “My Teacher’s Secret Life.”
The students laughed after each page as we talked about the night life of the teacher in the story. Many students wondered if Mrs. Munzenmayer slept at the school with a blow up mattress just like the teacher in the story. My favorite part of the experience was having the class as a follow up talk with Mrs. Munzenmayer about the things she did after school.
The students learned that she likes to take care of her dog, work in her garden, and read books. I think the students were able to see that Mrs. Munzenmayer is just like some of their parents.

Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Hess's writers |
Another exciting part to the week was witnessing Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Hess work with their class on writing. Each student was working on a story this week that was to be published and read to the class on Friday.
During my visit on Friday, I was able to see just how hard the students had worked on their stories this week while completing the final edits. One by one, each student came to the front of the room and shared their story with the class.
It was nice to see the other students being supportive of their classmates by clapping and complimenting one another. Overall, the students writing was detailed and showcased that the future writers of the world are being molded at Bacon School.
