Bacon Bears,

Focusing on today, tomorrow and the future!

We are really getting into the fall season! I hope you have taken the time to watch the leaves change! This week really flew by. I was out for two days because I was at the NJPSA Conference in Long Branch, NJ. The conference was awesome! I even helped out my friend Brad Currie on a few presentations about blogging (I made sure to mention RM Bacon), and social media.

This is the Week of Respect at RM Bacon. Mrs. Spanbauer has coordinated this week as a way to bring awareness to RESPECT. Each day we are asking the students and teachers to wear different colors! Check out the Weekly Overview for each day's color!

Let's make it an awesome week!

October 6 - 10

Bacon Bears,

Focused on today, tomorrow and the future!

We had another amazing week here at RM Bacon. So many opportunities to learn and grow! It is extremely important the we are all focused on learning!

This week is our annual WEEK OF RESPECT! Mrs. Spanbauer has lots of activities planned for the school. She sent home a newsletter with all of the activities. Each grade will be engaged in a different activity. Student artwork will be displayed throughout the school, and we will be recognizing the Students of the Month based on Respect!

On Tuesday, our RTI program continues with a new schedule based on the recent Universal Sweeps. Also on Tuesday we will have our first HSA (Home and School Association) meeting at 4:00 PM.

On Wednesday, we will be hosting Mrs. Mackall as she helps our staff enter in their SGO's to the new OnCourse system. Also on Wednesday, we will be hosting the RAC 7 staff. On Thursday, the teachers will be planning out the Halloween Frolic at 8:15 AM.

This week is shortened by a day. On Friday, the students will not have school, but our teachers will be here working on Professional Learning. This year the teachers will be working on developing student friendly learning objectives based on the standards. Should be a great time!

Here are some pictures from around the school. We are doing amazing things at this school :)

September 22 - 26

Bacon Bears

Focusing on Today, Tomorrow and the Future!

We had another awesome week at RM Bacon! As teachers and students continue to grow their learning environment, great things are happening. We had a very successful Back to School Night and those who were in attendance learned about their child's teacher, and some highlights of the school. Dr. Cook will put the presentation on Slide Share this week. Please check back.

This week we have a few cool things going on. On Monday we will be hosting an Anti-Bullying Night for Parents. The students will be taking their Universal Sweeps this week. The results of these assessments help us determine who needs additional help in the classroom or maybe with an Interventionist.

RM Bacon School Turns 85 on Friday! We will be singing Happy Birthday to the school. I am sure some teachers will be doing activities to celebrate the school turning 85... Maybe the younger students will be counting to 85, or some of the older kids could do 85 jumping jacks, or maybe we can compile 85 reasons why we love RM Bacon. The possibilities are endless.

September 15 - 19

Bacon Bears,

Focusing on today, tomorrow and the future!
We finished our first full week of school. It seems that many of the students have found their routines, and they are feeling comfortable. The teachers have been assessing the students to determine their baseline in relation to the curriculum. I have been having an awesome time reading to the classes (I have a few more to go this week).

So far we have had two fire drills and we will be having a safety drill soon. We take safety very serious at RM Bacon!

On Tuesday night at 7:00 PM we will be hosting our annual Back to School Night. Here is the basic overview of the night:
7:00 PM - 7:15 PM Overview and Welcome, Dr. Cook and Mrs. Spanbauer (Bacon Gym)
7:15 PM - 8:00 PM Classroom Presentations (in homerooms)
8:00 PM - 8:15 PM Questions and Answers with Dr. Cook (Bacon Gym) *not required

If you have children in multiple grades, we encourage you to switch half way through. We recommend starting with the youngest child first.
