October Rewind

November, in some respects, is a fast month. We have 4 days off (2 for NJEA Convention and 2 for the Thanksgiving Holiday) so I am sure that this month will fly by. I am sure everyone is excited for some of November's cool activities such as World Run Day (11/11), Sneaker Day (11/14), Turkey Feast (11/19), Bear Bucks Store (11/20), not to mention Parent Conferences (11/21, 11/24, and 11/25). Well, we will take it one day at a time and truly enjoy this month!

Reporter of the Week
The 4th and 5th graders were treated to an assembly on Writing Like a Reporter by Chris Torres of the Daily Journal. He talked with the kids about his college days, reporting schedule, and some of his most interesting stories. The students are now going to be writing stories for the RM Bacon Weekly. This week's story is by 5th grader, Gio.

This week in Mrs. Benson's class we have been having lots of fun! This Tuesday we had our annual Halloween Frolic and it was a blast! Everyone was pretty scary! This Friday we had our annual Halloween Parade and it was awesome! On Thursday we had an assembly and we got to meet Chris Torres, a reporter from the Daily Journal. He told us what being a reporter meant to him. We even got a picture with him and we got his autograph! This week we also studied the life cycle of a pumpkin.

We had another amazing week here at RM Bacon. So many opportunities to learn and grow! It is extremely important the we are all focused on learning!

This week is our annual WEEK OF RESPECT! Mrs. Spanbauer has lots of activities planned for the school. She sent home a newsletter with all of the activities. Each grade will be engaged in a different activity. Student artwork will be displayed throughout the school, and we will be recognizing the Students of the Month based on Respect!

On Tuesday, our RTI program continues with a new schedule based on the recent Universal Sweeps. Also on Tuesday we will have our first HSA (Home and School Association) meeting at 4:00 PM.

On Wednesday, we will be hosting Mrs. Mackall as she helps our staff enter in their SGO's to the new OnCourse system. Also on Wednesday, we will be hosting the RAC 7 staff. On Thursday, the teachers will be planning out the Halloween Frolic at 8:15 AM.

This week is shortened by a day. On Friday, the students will not have school, but our teachers will be here working on Professional Learning. This year the teachers will be working on developing student friendly learning objectives based on the standards. Should be a great time!
