Thank You for an Incredible Olympic Day and Fun Day!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our entire RM Bacon community for making Olympic Day and Fun Day such a huge success last week! From the early morning preparations to the cheers along the parade route, every detail came together to create an unforgettable day for our students.

These events take a great deal of planning, teamwork, and dedication—and we are so grateful to our staff, volunteers, and families for making them happen. Most importantly, the kids had an amazing time, and that’s what it’s all about!

Memorial Day – No School Monday

A quick reminder that there will be no school on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is more than just a long weekend—it’s a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It’s a moment for reflection, gratitude, and teaching our children about the importance of service, sacrifice, and the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We hope you’ll take a moment to pause with your families and talk about what this day truly means.

Upcoming Field Trips

We’re keeping the excitement going this week with a couple of field trips:

• Thursday – Our 3rd grade students will be heading out for their adventure!

• Friday – Our Kindergarteners will get their turn to explore and have fun.

Be sure to check permission slips, pack accordingly, and let us know if you have any questions.

Both were celebrated alongside honorees from across the county by the Cumberland County Education Association on Tuesday at Millville Motorsports Park, and again by Millville Public Schools at a special luncheon at Eastlyn. Congratulations to Mrs. Peterson and Ms. Thon on this well-deserved recognition! Thank you for all you do for our students and school community.

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School) 

Thank you all for your continued support and flexibility as we head into the final stretch of the school year!

First, I want to extend a huge thank you to our staff, students, and families for your cooperation during last week’s NJSLA testing for grades 3–5. We’re proud of how hard our students worked and how smoothly everything ran, thanks to the teamwork and positive attitudes from everyone involved. A big shout out to the coordinators, Mrs. Gant and Ms. Sacco for their hard work! 

We also want to acknowledge and thank you for your understanding during the shelter-in-place last week due to the tornado warning. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. As a reminder, when a safety protocol—such as a shelter-in-place or a lockdown—is in effect, we cannot release students or allow anyone to enter or exit the building until the situation is resolved. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during these moments, even when they can feel uncertain or inconvenient.

We have a very exciting week ahead at RM Bacon!

• Our 1st graders will be heading to the Cape May Zoo for their field trip—an experience full of discovery, fun, and learning!

• On Wednesday, students will have the opportunity to spend their hard-earned Bear Bucks at our PBIS Bear Bucks Store. It’s always rewarding to see how their positive behavior pays off!

• On Thursday, we’ll gather for our PBIS Assembly to celebrate the great choices our students have made throughout the month and highlight those who have gone above and beyond.

• We’ll close out the week with two of our favorite traditions—Olympic Day and Fun Day! These events bring our school community together in celebration, teamwork, and school spirit.
