This week at Bacon, we celebrated Bubbles for Autism with a joyful outdoor event and held an inspiring all-school assembly on anti-bullying, led by former WWE wrestler Chris Hollyfield. Chris shared his powerful message about respect, resilience, and inclusion, leaving a lasting impression on our students. Looking ahead, we’re excited for Pizza Bingo on Tuesday evening at 6 PM, bus evacuation practice during the week, and the Book Fair, which will be open all week during library time.

We are thrilled to celebrate our very own Cafeteria Manager, Candy Devich, who was recently honored as the Citizen of the Year by the Millville Elks. This well-deserved recognition is a testament to Candy’s unwavering dedication and heart for the Bacon School community.

Candy is truly one of a kind. As the heart of our kitchen—and often the heart of our school—she goes above and beyond each day to care for both students and staff. From serving meals with a smile to organizing special events like holiday celebrations and fundraisers, Candy brings people together and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all. Her compassion, hard work, and positive spirit have made her one of the most beloved members of our Bacon family.

Thank you, Candy, for everything you do—and congratulations on this incredible honor!

Gifted and Talented - Chess Time

The fifth grade gifted and talented students from all five elementary students did an amazing job playing chess over the last two days at Holly Heights. The Bacon students did a great job as well. They had wonderful behavior and displayed exemplary critical thinking / strategy skills. We hope to host a summer chess camp for our GT students so the fun can continue!

Bacon School Fills the Sky with Bubbles for Autism

Bubbles for Autism

On April 1, 2025, Bacon School students and staff came together for our annual Bubbles for Autism event, spreading awareness, acceptance, and support for individuals with autism. As we stepped outside, the sky quickly filled with bubbles—each one representing kindness, inclusion, and understanding.

It was a beautiful sight to see our school community united in this important cause. Students demonstrated our school values of being safe, responsible, and respectful as they listened to their teachers and participated with enthusiasm.

A huge thank you to all students and staff for making this event so meaningful. Your participation helps reinforce that Bacon School is a place where everyone is valued and supported. Together, we are making a difference! 💙

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in Schools)

Last week was an exciting one at RM Bacon Elementary! We had our PBIS Bear Bucks Store, where students cashed in their well-earned Bear Bucks for fun rewards, reinforcing our commitment to positive behavior. The PBIS Assembly was a great success, celebrating students who have demonstrated respect, responsibility, and readiness. We wrapped up the week with Hoops for Bacon, a thrilling event that brought students and staff together for some friendly basketball competition. It was truly a week filled with positivity and school spirit!

Looking ahead, we have another exciting lineup of events:

Spring Pictures will take place on Monday. Be sure to bring your best smile!
Bubbles for Autism is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:15 PM. This special event helps raise awareness and support for individuals with autism, and we encourage everyone to participate.
Youth Alliance Assembly: This week, we are honored to welcome Preston Centuolo, the founder of The Youth Alliance (TYA), who will be speaking to students across the district. For more than a decade, TYA has partnered with schools to educate and empower students, faculty, and the community.

Preston Centuolo’s message focuses on accepting differences, fostering an anti-bullying culture, and helping students discover their dreams. His goal is to inspire young people to overcome adversity and remain true to themselves rather than giving in to peer pressure, violence, or negativity. Preston is passionate about connecting with youth, especially those facing challenges, and his message of hope, resilience, and leadership aligns perfectly with our school’s mission.
