Bacon Weekly - February 19 - 23, 2024

We celebrated 100 Days of School!

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School)

Last week marked the 100th day of school with great fanfare! It's incredible to reflect on how much our students have grown and learned in just 100 days. We applaud their hard work and dedication, and we look forward to all the amazing achievements yet to come as we continue this academic journey together.

Additionally, we celebrated Valentine's Day with joy and affection. From heartfelt cards to sweet treats, our students spread love and kindness throughout the school. It was a beautiful reminder of the importance of friendship, compassion, and community.

Another highlight from last week was the initiative taken by our first-grade students, who showcased their creativity and commitment to health by preparing delicious and nutritious smoothies for their peers. It was heartwarming to see our youngest learners promoting wellness and making positive choices.

As we transition into this week, we have some important meetings on the horizon. Our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. This is an opportunity for us to come together and continue fostering a positive and supportive school environment for every student.

Additionally, our School Leadership Meeting will take place on Wednesday at 8:15 AM. This meeting will focus on our Cycle 2 data and we will analyze strengths and areas for improvement moving forward. This meeting will be in the Library.

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School)

We hope the the RM Bacon community is having a Super Weekend!  At the time of this blog, we do not know who will win the Super Bowl. Hopefully, it is a great game with funny commercials and an entertaining half time show! As we embark on another week of learning and collaboration, let's take a moment to explore what's in store for the week of February 12th to February 16th.

Joe Corbis Fundraiser:

This is a reminder that the Joe Corbis Fundraiser are due on February 15th. All proceeds will be going to offset the cost of our Fun Day!

Let's kick off the week with enthusiasm and determination! Use this Monday as an opportunity to set positive intentions and embrace the possibilities that lie ahead. Remember, a positive mindset can pave the way for great accomplishments. Staff Motivation Meeting at 8:40 AM in the Library!

School Safety Meeting:

Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff remains our top priority. Join us for a School Safety Meeting on Monday at 10 AM, where we'll discuss important safety protocols and procedures. Your participation is invaluable as we work together to maintain a secure environment for everyone in our school community.

100th Day of School Celebration:

Tuesday marks a significant milestone - the 100th day of school! Let's celebrate this achievement with joy and appreciation for the learning and growth that has taken place since the beginning of the academic year. It's a testament to our resilience and dedication to education.

Administrators' Professional Development:

On Thursday, our administrators will be engaged in Professional Development focused on ARC reading. This training is designed to enhance our ability to support students in their literacy journey. We're grateful for our administrators' commitment to continuous improvement and their dedication to student success.

PTO Meeting:

Mark your calendars for Thursday at 5:30 PM! Our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) will be hosting a meeting where our student council will present their ideas about the Little Library project. This initiative aims to promote literacy and community engagement. Additionally, we'll be discussing our upcoming Joe Corbis fundraiser, which plays a vital role in supporting various school activities and initiatives.

Successful Jump Rope for Heart:

Last Friday, February 9th, 2024, our school hosted a highly successful Jump Rope for Heart event. We're thrilled to announce that Mrs. Starcher's class raised the most money, while Mrs. Taylor's class registered the most students online. Additionally, 1st Grade demonstrated outstanding fundraising efforts and participation. Together, we raised an impressive total of $1,720.62 for this heart-healthy cause. A heartfelt thank you goes to Mrs. Muhlbaier and Mr. Sooy for their tireless efforts in organizing this event.

Top Student Fundraisers for Jump Rope for Heart Recognition:

Let's extend a round of applause to our top fundraisers: Peter Gonzalez, Violet Richter, and Nehemiah Brown. Your dedication and generosity are truly commendable, and your contributions will make a meaningful impact on heart health initiatives.
