We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in Schools) 

Last week was an exciting one at RM Bacon Elementary! We had our PBIS Bear Bucks Store, where students cashed in their well-earned Bear Bucks for fun rewards, reinforcing our commitment to positive behavior. The PBIS Assembly was a great success, celebrating students who have demonstrated respect, responsibility, and readiness. We wrapped up the week with Hoops for Bacon, a thrilling event that brought students and staff together for some friendly basketball competition. It was truly a week filled with positivity and school spirit!

Looking ahead, we have another exciting lineup of events:

• Spring Pictures will take place on Monday. Be sure to bring your best smile!

• Bubbles for Autism is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:15 PM. This special event helps raise awareness and support for individuals with autism, and we encourage everyone to participate.

• Youth Alliance Assembly: This week, we are honored to welcome Preston Centuolo, the founder of The Youth Alliance (TYA), who will be speaking to students across the district. For more than a decade, TYA has partnered with schools to educate and empower students, faculty, and the community.

Preston Centuolo’s message focuses on accepting differences, fostering an anti-bullying culture, and helping students discover their dreams. His goal is to inspire young people to overcome adversity and remain true to themselves rather than giving in to peer pressure, violence, or negativity. Preston is passionate about connecting with youth, especially those facing challenges, and his message of hope, resilience, and leadership aligns perfectly with our school’s mission.

Bookfair Information 

The Bookfair will be taking place on April 7th-11th during library classes! 📚 Information about the bookfair, including how to set up your eWallet can be found here.  Volunteers are always welcome!  Anyone wanting to help out can sign up for a shift using this link.  Happy reading! 📖

Bella is the all time soda tab winner! 

Last week was another exciting one at RM Bacon Elementary! We kicked things off by wearing green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, filling our hallways with festive spirit. 

On Wednesday, we honored our hard-working students with a fantastic Honor Roll/Principal’s List Ice Cream Party—a well-deserved treat for their dedication to academics. 

We wrapped up the week with a teacher professional development day on Friday, where staff engaged in meaningful learning to continue providing the best education for our students.

Good News to Share! 

We are proud to share that RM Bacon Elementary is not in any NJDOE status for the third year in a row! This is a huge accomplishment, reflecting the hard work of our staff, students, and families.

We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School) 

Spring is in the air, and we have an exciting week ahead at RM Bacon Elementary! Here’s what’s happening:

🍀 Monday – Green Day Celebration 🍀
We’re kicking off the week by celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with Green Day! Students and staff are encouraged to wear green as we embrace the luck of the Irish. Let’s fill the halls with school spirit!

📌 Tuesday – I&RS Team Meeting 📌
Our Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) team will be meeting all day in the conference room to review student needs and provide support strategies. We appreciate their dedication to ensuring every student receives the help they need to succeed!

🍦 Wednesday – Honor Roll Ice Cream Social 🍦
A big congratulations to our Honor Roll students from Marking Periods 1 and 2! We will celebrate their hard work and achievement with an Ice Cream Social at 2:00 PM. Keep up the great work!

📚 Thursday – PTO Meeting 📚
Join us for our monthly PTO meeting at 5:30 PM in the Library. This is a great opportunity for parents and guardians to stay involved and help plan upcoming events. We hope to see you there!

🚫 Friday – No School (Professional Development Day) 🚫
Reminder: There is no school on Friday as our teachers participate in professional development sessions. We appreciate their commitment to continuous learning and growth!

Pizza Bingo - April 8, 2025 (2 dollars per person) 

Mark your calendars for the always popular, Pizza Bingo. There will be prizes for the winners of the Bing Games and a Silent Auction featuring amazing baskets donated by our staff.
