It's all about respect!

We are getting closer to the start of school (and the end of summer)... This week will be busy. On Monday, our PBIS team will be meeting to plan out the year and identify problems for us to address. Tuesday and Wednesday the Summer Trek team will be meeting at Lakeside to learn more about SGOs and action plans.

Our cafeteria is continuing to transform into a restaurant!

Our cafeteria continues to be on schedule. This week the walls were painted (just waiting for a nice mural) and the new ceiling was started. I am so impressed at how this project has stayed on schedule!

The custodial team has moved into the basement floor. They are getting close to completing the entire building. This week, they will be working on finishing the basement floor and starting on the gym!

It's all about respect....

It's hard to believe that July is coming to a close. We are getting closer and closer to the start of the new school year!!!!! 

Our internet, and phones are back up and running.... Not to mention... We have wireless throughout the building... Having wireless throughout the building has the potential to change the complexion of instruction at our school. We will be taking the first steps to expanding our learning environments and optimizing the entire building!!!! We are very excited about this..

It's all about respect! 

There are so many projects happening at RM Bacon this summer. We will feel like we have a new school in the fall! In the meantime, the front office will remain closed until July 25th due to the wireless instillation project. Should you need to get in touch with Mrs. Klaudi or Dr. Cook, please feel free to email us or stop by the 3rd floor Curriculum Center at the Culver Building. We will also be checking phone messages! We apologize for this inconvenience, but we are excited about the WIFI!!!!!

Wireless Update...
Beginning July 17 and ending approximately July 25^th all IT Services (Phones, Network, Wireless, etc.) will be unavailable at the RM Bacon School. Our staff work be working at an alternate location during this time. IT services will need access to all classrooms, hallways, offices, etc. during the project. Therefore, please be patient with us during this time. 

Please note that the summer program will continue during this time.

We have selected our new theme for the 2013-14 School Year. 

It's all about respect!

How did we get to this theme? We looked at our data.... As a team, we decided, based on the PBIS data from last year and all of the feedback from teachers, that the area students are struggling most with is RESPECT. The summer projects continue. Mr. Frank and his crew are moving through the third floor. So much progress has been made in such a short time.

Over the weekend, I read a brilliant blog post by another friend, Jessica Johnson (follow her on twitter). Her piece really made me want to apply for a new job.... Lead Learner of RM Bacon Elementary... I put my request into Dr. Gentile and Dr. Moore. I am waiting to hear if I could be the Lead Learner. Take a few minutes to read this post and you will know why.
