Bears,
We hope everyone had a nice week. It's hard to believe the first day of spring is Wednesday. Well, maybe it's not so hard to believe after all - the temps are warmer, testing is coming up...all sure signs that we are rolling into the next season. Not to mention spring break...ok, maybe that isn't exactly around the corner, but it's getting closer...
Weekly Recap
In addition to all the great things that happen here everyday, Friday was a sea of green at Bacon. Some teachers and students really went all out to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style. Check out some of the pics below. Way to get into it! It always makes school a little extra fun when we can - uh - let ourselves go from time to time (in a good way, of course).
Announcements
On Monday, we have our Celebrate Reading event here at Bacon. It will run from 6-7:30, and it will be fun night of reading and hanging out together. Bring your family to read with our Bacon family!
This Thursday is the district's Tech Showcase at Holly Heights from 5-6:30. This is always a fun night - don't miss it!
Grades 3-5 are set to embark on our latest PD here at Bacon - Peer Labs. The intro session is Friday.
Bacon is participating in the "Warming Hearts Program" put on by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office. Please see below for details on how to donate non-perishable items. Any contribution is greatly appreciated.

Staff - our mandatory NJSLA (formerly PARCC) training is Thursday. All teaching staff members (except instructional aides) are required to attend.
PBIS Corner
March character-trait-of-the-month: fairness. Some examples of fairness include playing by the rules, taking turns and sharing, being open-minded and listening to others, and treating all people fairly.
Fairness quote-of-the-week: "Fairness is not an attitude. It is a skill that must be developed and exercised" - Brit Hume. Treating others fairly doesn't necessarily come naturally, and it might not always be easy. Like anything else, we can get better at it. Make a choice today that you'll be fair in your treatment of people, in all your dealings, and with yourself.
Staff, remember your why!
