Bacon Bears,
We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)
We're thrilled to share the highlights of our recent "Be Excited About Reading in School" week! The enthusiasm and participation from students, teachers, and families made it a truly memorable event.
Throughout the week, we enjoyed a variety of School Spirit activities, including wearing motivational shirts, dressing up as superheroes, showcasing our favorite sports shirts, getting silly with outfits or hairstyles, and cozying up in pajamas. These fun-filled days created a positive atmosphere and showed our collective love for reading.
BEARS Read A Thon
The culmination of the week was our Read-A-Thon, where we immersed ourselves in the joy of reading while also raising funds. Thanks to everyone's efforts, we raised an impressive $3,902! Special congratulations to Mrs. Catlett's class for securing 1st place, followed by Mrs. Starcher's class in 2nd place, Ms. McLaughlin in 3rd place, Ms. Workman in 4th place, and Mrs. Digorgio in 5th place. We're also proud to recognize our top fundraisers: For K-2 - Alex Dejesus, for 3-5 - Zamiah Walker, and honorable mention Pablo Cruz.
A big shoutout goes to Mrs. Lunemann and Mrs. Starcher for organizing the BEARS Read-A-Thon and making it a huge success! We couldn't have done it without their leadership, vision and dedication!
In addition to our Read-A-Thon, we celebrated our 1st Grade Author's Spotlight. Each 1st Grade student published a book about an animal of their choice, marking the culmination of a 9-week effort through the second unit in ARC. We were delighted to have over 25 parents attend, along with support from RTI, the Cafeteria, and retired Bacon Staff. A heartfelt thank you to the first-grade team for their dedication and hard work!
Joe Corbis Pick Up - Wednesday, March 14th from 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Thank you to everyone who participated in the fundraiser. We will share the results of how much we raised in next week's blog.
