Ms. Sacco with Ms. Berry and Dr. Mazzoni and Dr. McCartney

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

What an amazing first month of school we’ve had at RM Bacon Elementary! The energy and enthusiasm from students, staff, and families have set a positive tone for the year ahead, and we’ve already celebrated several fantastic events.

PTO Fall Fundraiser

We are excited to announce the success of our fall fundraiser for the PTO through the Double Good Popcorn sale! This year, we reached a total of $3,408 in sales, which resulted in $1,704 raised for our PTO. To put this into perspective, last year's event brought in $1,813 in sales and $906 in earnings. This marks an incredible increase of 88% in both total sales and PTO earnings! Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this effort—your contributions make a real difference for our students and school community!

Back to School Night Success

We kicked off the year with a successful Back to School Night. It was heartwarming to see so many families come out to connect with teachers and learn more about what’s ahead for our students. The collaboration between home and school is vital to ensuring our students thrive, and the support we saw from our families was truly inspiring.

Literacy Night

We Are BEARS! Last week, we hosted a wonderful Literacy Night, centered around our theme We Are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School). The evening was filled with fun, learning, and excitement as we emphasized the importance of reading. Our families and staff came together to celebrate literacy and the love of learning. We are so grateful for Mrs. Gandy for coordinating this event! A special thank you to all who participated—you made the event a success!

Looking Ahead

Exciting Programs and Recognitions As we move into October, we have several important programs lined up. This week, we will be starting our Child Assault Prevention (CAP) program, which provides our students with vital skills to keep themselves safe. We will also be holding a PBIS Assembly, where we will reinforce the positive behaviors that form the foundation of our school culture. Additionally, we are gearing up for Fire Prevention Week, an important initiative that teaches our students about safety both at school and at home.

A Special Recognition for Ms. Sacco

We are thrilled to recognize our school counselor, Ms. Sacco, for her recent honor! She was awarded the 2024 Cheerleader Award by Big Brothers/Big Sisters for her dedication and outstanding support of children in our community. Ms. Sacco’s compassion and commitment to our students and families are evident every day, and we are so proud to see her efforts acknowledged in this special way. Congratulations, Ms. Sacco!

It’s been a great start to the year, and we are excited to keep the momentum going. Thank you to our staff, students, and families for making RM Bacon Elementary such a wonderful place to learn and grow.
