Congratulations to Our 2025–2026 Educator of the Year & Educational Services Professional of the Year!
We are excited and proud to announce this year’s honorees:
Teacher of the Year: Mr. Andrew Sooy
Mr. Sooy has made a tremendous impact in his time at Bacon. His physical education classes are a highlight of the week for our students, who admire his calm, compassionate approach and his ability to make every child feel capable and included. His lessons are engaging, structured, and built around teamwork and character development.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Sooy is deeply involved in our school community—supporting PBIS, intramurals, Dare to Be Fit, and attending students’ sporting events long after they’ve left Bacon. His positivity, leadership, and dedication embody what it means to be a Bacon Bear. Congratulations, Mr. Sooy!

Educational Services Professional of the Year: Mrs. Dianne Goehle

Mrs. Goehle is an extraordinary support to students and staff, especially in Room 2 where her organization, compassion, and instructional skill make a daily difference. She routinely goes above and beyond—coming in early, staying late, attending school activities, and giving her absolute best to every student she supports.
Dianne is more than a paraeducator; she is a true educator whose dedication to student success shines in everything she does. She is kind, steady, reliable, and an essential part of the Bacon team. Congratulations, Mrs. Goehle!

Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will take place next week during Library class, and we are excited to help students find books they love!

Don’t miss one of our favorite Bacon traditions—Reading with Santa!
Join us Wednesday, December 10 at 6:00 PM for a cozy evening of stories, photos, and family fun. The Book Fair will be open during the event as well.
