BEARS Read-A-Thon was a success

Bacon Bears, 

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School) 

Out Bacon Bears had a very successful BEARS Read-A-Thon on Friday. This program raised over $3,600.00 for our annual Fun Day! In addition, the program provided students the opportunity to read in a unique setting with all of the books and resources from our ARC program. We had students from the High School reading with our students which was a great experience. In addition, there were several parent donors who provided additional money so all the students could read in the Bear Cave! We want to give a Bacon shout out to Mrs. Lunemann and Mrs. Starcher for organizing and developing the event! Kudos to their leadership!

We are encouraging you to send in a picture of students for whatever activity they do (football, basketball, dance, etc)? We made a bulletin board to show off our Super Star Bears in the Cafeteria. Please email Mrs. Devich (candace.devich@millville.org)

Bacon Weekly - 3/20 - 3/24, 2023

Bacon Bears, 

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School) 

This week we have some exciting things going on at Bacon. The PTO meeting will be on Monday at 6:00 PM. We have our ScIP meeting on Wednesday at 8:15 AM. There is the PBIS Bear Bucks Store on Thursday. On Friday we have our first Read-A-Thon from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM. We will close the week out with the PBIS Assembly at 2:00 PM. 

Bacon Read-A-Thon - We value reading at Bacon 

On Friday March 24th we will be having a reading day fundraiser for Fun Day. Returned Fundraising slips/money can be returned to Mrs. Lunemann or Mrs. Starcher. Every student will participate.  If they raised $3 they can read in the gym during the assigned time for their grade level. Students are invited to wear their PJs and bring a stuffed bear for the Read-A-Thon.  We will be having a great time in the gym!

Bacon Can Drive to Support local Seniors 

Winning classroom last year was Mrs. Catlett. We raised a total of 47 boxes that served over 150 families. Can we beat it that amount? Winning classroom this year will get a Pizza Party (through the cafeteria) and a free PE class.

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in Schools)

We are excited about Daylight Savings Time! We know that this means longer, sunnier days are upon us. There are a lot of awesome things going on at Bacon and we appreciate everyone staying current by reading and sharing our Blog. We post this weekly on our Facebook Page (are you on our Facebook?) and teachers are encouraged to share through their communication channels. 

At the most recent PTO meeting, we shared out the results of our School Improvement Process. We continue to make progress towards our goals and we want our Bacon community to know how we are doing. Our next PTO meeting is March 20, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Bacon Library. We will be talking about our upcoming events and fundraisers.
