Bacon Bears,

We hope everyone had a great weekend. This week is Red Ribbon Week. This is a special week as we team up to make sure that kids know that they should live a drug free. Each day there are activities scheduled to encourage students to see how important Red Ribbon Week is to our school. 

We are super excited about the Halloween Frolic on Thursday, October 26, 2023. This is one of our signature events and definitley an event that you will not want to miss. We sent flyers home. Be sure to register your Bacon Bear so that you get a food and Haunted Walk ticket. 

This week is Red Ribbon Week. We are encouraging everyone to participate in the events this week.  

Monday - Wear RED - Link up to be Drug Free 

Tuesday - Wear your favorite Team Shirt - Let's team up against Drugs! 

Wednesday - Wear Orange - Orange you glad to be drug free! 

Thursday - Wear Neon or Bright Colors - You will have a bright future with out drugs 

Friday - Wear mismatched clothes! Don't Get Mixed Up with Drugs

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

Last week was a short but memorable week. Our Bears were excited about the Phillies and they showed their support. We had a successful Fire Drill and we continued to plan for the upcoming Halloween Frolic. 

Be sure to mark your calendars for the Halloween Frolic. This is a must see event! Our Frolic is on October 26, 2023 at 6:00 PM. You will have the opportunity to do a Trunk or Treat, make Halloween crafts, dance in the gym and the famous Haunted Walk. 

This week we are participating in Digital Citizenship Week. Each day students and staff can participate in the dress up opportunities and understand the purpose of the week. It is important for all of us to talk with kids about how important being a good Digital Citizen.

We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School)

We hope that everyone had an incredible extended weekend. Our staff used the Professional Development Day on Friday to learn more about their content areas, PBIS, and Social and Emotional Learning. Our staff is committed to lifelong learning and always improving! 

This week parents should be on the lookout for Progress Reports. Can you believe that we are halfway through the first marking period? Yes, this school year is flying by! Our students have Picture Day on Tuesday and on Wednesday we are hosting German exchange students and teachers. We are excited about learning from our visitors! 

Fresh Fruit and Veggie Grant

This week, thanks to our Fresh Fruit and Veggie grant, Bacon School students were able to try "Moon Drop Grapes" in our fruit trays! Moon Drop grapes are so delicious and should start appearing in your local produce isle! They are very sweet and our Bacon Bears loved them! If you see them in the store, be sure to grab a bag!  Ms. Candy, Cafeteria Manager

This week we are starting the month off with the Week of Respect. Each day our students will wear something symbolic and participate in activities to show respect. We are excited for this week because respect is at the core of our school rules. 

We want students to respect themselves, other students and staff. Once we can do this, we can achieve anything!
