We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in Schools)

We hope that everyone had a great 4 day weekend! This was a much needed time for a fall break. Prior the break, we had a lot of amazing activities with the Halloween Frolic, Halloween Parade and the annual Turkey Trot. These events are crucial to our school developing a climate and culture dedicated to healthy schools and fun!

Our Halloween Parade was well attended by our Bacon Families. In addition, we had all of our staff and students participate in the Turkey Trot. The weather was amazing for both events. We really made sure that the kids got out and moving after all of that Halloween candy that they ate. Students at the Turkey Trot ran/jogged/walked for over 30 minutes!

This week is our last full week of school in November. We are looking forward to our first set of Parent/Teacher Conferences this Friday which is why we have early dismissal at 1:30 PM. Also, be prepared for early dismissals on November 20, 21 and 22 next week.

Monday - November 13 - A Day - Monday Motivation, 8:40 AM;

Tuesday - November 14 - B Day - Intervention Manager training, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Wednesday - November 15 - C Day - ARC Training (schedule to follow)

Thursday - November 16 - D Day - Turkey Feast *seating 1 - 11:00 AM grades K-3; *seating 2 - 12:30 PM grades 4 and 5

Friday - November 17 - E Day - Early Dismissal, Parent conferences, 1:30 PM

Bacon Weekly - 10/30 - 11/3/2023

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

We hope that you had a Spooktacular time at the Halloween Frolic. This year we had over 350 people attend. We had an amazing time dancing, scaring, eating and Trunk or Treating. There were so many people who made this event successful. Our Bacon Staff worked tirelessly on creating decorations, planning and donating their personal time to ensure that this was a successful event. We also had great support from the Bacon PTO, Regal Cinemas, Texas Roadhouse and the High School Key Club and Honor Society.

This week we will be hosting our annual Halloween Parade at Bacon on October 31, 2023 at 2:00 PM on the playground. Parents are encouraged to attend to see their children in the parade. However, parents and guests will not be permitted in the building.

On Monday, October 30, we are encouraging everyone to wear PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness!
