Student Council Fundraiser at Chick Fil A

We are thrilled to announce the success of our recent Student Council fundraiser at Chick Fil A! Thanks to your support, we were able to raise a total of $1425.56 in sales. This incredible achievement wouldn't have been possible without the enthusiasm and generosity of our Bacon community.

As a result of our efforts, we will receive a 10% donation from Chick Fil A, amounting to $145 for our school. This contribution will not only benefit our school but also help supplement the Free Little Library project. Your participation has made a significant impact, and we are deeply grateful for your support.

Bacon BEAR Read-A-Thon: March 8, 2024

Mark your calendars for an exciting upcoming event - the Bacon BEAR Read-A-Thon! Scheduled for March 8, 2024, this event promises to be a fun and enriching experience for our students.

During the Read-A-Thon, we are inviting all students to participate in reaching their fundraising goals. Each student has received a packet explaining the Read-A-Thon and outlining their fundraising objectives. We encourage parents and guardians to support their children in this endeavor.

All proceeds from the Read-A-Thon will directly contribute to the cost of Fun Day in May. Our goal is to collect donations that will cover expenses such as waterslides, pools, snacks, and crafts for this exciting event. Your contributions will ensure that Fun Day is a memorable and enjoyable experience for all our students.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our Bacon community for coming together to support the Read-A-Thon. Your involvement and generosity are instrumental in making this event a resounding success. Together, we can make a difference and create lasting memories for our students.

March Movement with Eager 2 Run (E2M)

Our Healthy Schools committee is excited to announce our participation in the March Movement through Eager 2 Run (E2M)! We encourage all students and staff to join us in this initiative by incorporating walking into your daily routine.

Starting March 1st, the Eager 2 Run Club will be embarking on a "Million Miles March" with the goal of accumulating 1,000,000 miles of walking and running throughout the month. This challenge is open to individuals of all fitness levels and ages, and it aligns with World Obesity Day on March 4th.

Let's take action towards a healthier lifestyle and join the nationwide movement for physical activity! This challenge also serves as preparation for National Walking Day on April 3rd and our World Record Attempt 5k on April 6th.

We are proud to be one of over 25 schools participating in this initiative, and we look forward to seeing our students and staff up and moving! Remember to bring your sneakers every day and join us in making strides towards better health.

Bear Bucks Store: Where Little Shoppers Make Big Choices

Last week, our school buzzed with excitement as students eagerly participated in the Bear Bucks store. This unique initiative not only fosters financial literacy but also rewards positive behavior. Kudos to all the little shoppers who made thoughtful choices with their Bear Bucks!

Milestone Achieved: Progress on Annual School Plan

We're thrilled to announce that Bacon Elementary has made significant strides towards our Annual School Plan goals. With three out of four interim goals successfully met, it's evident that our dedicated staff and students are committed to excellence in education. Upcoming Events: Mark Your Calendars!

Reading Day in the Bear Cave: On March 8, 2024, we are hosting our 2nd Annual BEARS Reading Event. There is a 3 dollar donation for this event. All proceeds will help to fund our Fun Day. Last year we raised over 3,500 dollars and had the whole school participate! 

Chick Fil A Fundraiser: Join us on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM for a delicious fundraiser at Chick Fil A. Not only will you enjoy a scrumptious meal, but you'll also be supporting our Student Council's noble cause of funding a Free Little Library at Bacon. Every bite counts towards fostering a love for reading in our school community!

Monday Motivation: Kickstart your week with positivity at our Monday Motivation session at 8:40 AM. Let's set the tone for a week filled with inspiration and productivity.

School Safety Team Meeting: Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is paramount. Join us on Monday as we convene to discuss strategies for maintaining a secure learning environment.

I and RS Meeting: On Tuesday, our dedicated educators will be engaged in an I and RS meeting all day, collaborating to meet the individualized needs of our students. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Monthly PBIS Assembly: Wrap up your week on a high note with our Monthly PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) Assembly on Friday. Let's celebrate and recognize the outstanding behavior and achievements of our students.

We celebrated 100 Days of School! 

Bacon Bears, 

We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School) 

Last week marked the 100th day of school with great fanfare! It's incredible to reflect on how much our students have grown and learned in just 100 days. We applaud their hard work and dedication, and we look forward to all the amazing achievements yet to come as we continue this academic journey together.

Additionally, we celebrated Valentine's Day with joy and affection. From heartfelt cards to sweet treats, our students spread love and kindness throughout the school. It was a beautiful reminder of the importance of friendship, compassion, and community.

Another highlight from last week was the initiative taken by our first-grade students, who showcased their creativity and commitment to health by preparing delicious and nutritious smoothies for their peers. It was heartwarming to see our youngest learners promoting wellness and making positive choices.

As we transition into this week, we have some important meetings on the horizon. Our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. This is an opportunity for us to come together and continue fostering a positive and supportive school environment for every student.

Additionally, our School Leadership Meeting will take place on Wednesday at 8:15 AM. This meeting will focus on our Cycle 2 data and we will analyze strengths and areas for improvement moving forward. This meeting will be in the Library.
