Bacon Weekly - May 20 - 24, 2024

Foam Run

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School)

We hope you're all doing well and enjoying the spring season! It's been an eventful week here at Bacon Elementary, and we're thrilled to share some highlights with you in this week's edition.

Last week, our students in grades 3-5 completed their NJSLA state testing. We want to extend a huge congratulations to all our students for their hard work and dedication during this testing period. It's always inspiring to see how much our students grow academically, and we're eagerly awaiting the results to see the progress they've made.

On Friday, we celebrated our students' accomplishments with a successful FOAM run as part of our Healthy School initiative. It was a fantastic way to recognize their efforts and dedication to their studies. A big thank you to all the students who participated and made the FOAM run such a fun and memorable event!

Looking ahead, we have some exciting events lined up for this week. On Tuesday, we'll be hosting our I and RS meeting, where we'll discuss important matters related to student success and well-being.

As part of our ongoing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, we're excited to announce that the Bear Bucks Store will be open on Thursday. Students can redeem their hard-earned Bear Bucks for a variety of rewards, reinforcing positive behavior and fostering a positive school culture.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Art Show and Spring Concert for grades 3-5 on Monday, May 20th. The Art Show will kick off at 5:30 PM, followed by the Spring Concert at 6:00 PM. We can't wait to showcase the artistic talents of our students and enjoy some wonderful musical performances!

For our younger students in grades K-2, the Spring Concert will be held on Thursday at 2:30 PM. We encourage all parents and families to come out and support our young performers as they take the stage.

The week will culminate with our highly anticipated Annual Olympic Day for grades 3-5 and Fun Day for K-2 on Friday. This long-standing tradition dates back to the 1970s and brings together all the elementary schools for a day of friendly competition at Wheaton Field. It's sure to be a day filled with excitement, teamwork, and fun memories!
