We are BEARS! Be Excited About Reading in Schools

We’ve officially wrapped up our first full week of school. We are all working hard to establish our routines and procedures! It’s been a busy start, but I truly appreciate everyone’s dedication to getting our protocols and procedures in place. Some areas take more time than others, but the effort is showing.

Thank you for your continued hard work—it’s noticed and appreciated! ~ Dr. Cook, Principal

Assemblies Recap
The feedback from our school assemblies has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s great to see everyone embracing our school-wide expectations, call and response routines, and rules. If you ever wonder whether the students "got it," just ask them—they’re learning fast!

Spotlight on Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten team has been doing an incredible job during these first few weeks, and we’ve spent a lot of time in their classrooms supporting their efforts. Working with 4- and 5-year-olds is no easy task, but our teachers and paraprofessionals have handled it with patience and skill. A huge shout-out and thank you to our Bacon Bears Kindergarten team for their hard work and dedication!

Also, we want to give a warm welcome back to Mrs. Bacon Bear Thone this week! We're glad to have her back.

Bacon Weekly - 9/9 - 9/13, 2024

Ready for School

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School)

The new school year is officially underway, and what a start it has been! After two days of engaging professional development and our heartfelt “Prayer at the Pole” event, RM Bacon Elementary is off to a great start. As we reflect on the first two days with students, the excitement in the air is undeniable—and it’s just the start of what promises to be a remarkable year.

Professional Development

Preparing for Success Before the students even stepped into the building, our staff spent two days  in professional development, collaborating and preparing for the year. We even had a combined session with staff from Mt. Pleasant and played a fun Kahoot!

Prayer at the Pole

Just before the school doors opened to students, we gathered as a community for “Prayer at the Pole,” a tradition that brings us together in a moment of unity and reflection. It was a powerful way to start the year—grounding ourselves in hope, peace, and positivity as we embark on this new journey.

Kindergarten Orientation

On Wednesday, we opened our doors to the class of 2037! Our 4 and 5 year old's with their families were able to meet the Bacon Team, tour the school and see their classrooms. This was a fun event and we want to thank everyone who turned out to support our school.

First Two Days

We had an excellent first two days at RM Bacon. We focused on building relationships, setting objectives and getting comfortable with the school.

We have incredible plans in store for this year such as engaging projects, creative learning experiences, and opportunities for our students to thrive both academically and personally. We’re committed to fostering a culture of kindness, resilience, and curiosity, and we can’t wait to see how our students rise to the occasion.

We are excited about the 24-25 school year, and we know that with the support of our amazing staff, students, and families, this year will be one to remember.

Bacon Weekly - Welcome Back 24-25 School Year

Welcome Back to RM Bacon Elementary School for the 2024-2025 School Year!

Dear Bacon Family,

We are thrilled to welcome you all back to RM Bacon Elementary School for what promises to be an exciting and productive 2024-2025 school year! Whether you’re a returning member of our school community or new to the Bacon family, we are so happy to have you with us as we embark on another year of learning, growth, and fun.

Summer Highlights

Our school has been very activity over the summer, and we can’t wait for you to see the improvements. The school is sparkling clean, with every corner shining and ready for our students and staff to fill the halls with energy and enthusiasm. We’re also excited to share that we’re working on plans for a brand-new playground! While we’re still in the planning stages, this is going to be a fantastic addition to our school, providing a safe and fun space for our students to enjoy.

In addition to our playground plans, we’ve made an important upgrade to our school’s security with the installation of a new security vestibule. This addition ensures that RM Bacon Elementary remains a safe and secure environment for everyone. Safety continues to be our top priority, and this new feature is just one of the ways we’re working to protect our school community.
