Undercover Spirit Week 2025

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

What an incredible week at RM Bacon Elementary! We want to take a moment to thank our amazing staff who helped plan, organize, and participated in our Undercover Spirit Week.

Your creativity and enthusiasm made it a memorable experience for our students and staff alike! Here’s a quick recap of the fun we had:

  • Tuesday: Dress-Up Day – Staff showed up in their most formal outfits.

  • Wednesday: All Black Day – A sleek and stylish day where the staff showed up coordinated black outfits. It was fun to see the unified vibe throughout the school!

  • Thursday: Anything-But-a-Cup Day – This day brought out some of the most hilarious and inventive creations as staff drank out of everything from boots to watering cans. It was a highlight of the week!

  • Friday: Mixed-Match Clothes and Teacher Swap Day – The mismatched outfits brought plenty of laughter, and the teacher swaps added a unique twist, giving students a fun opportunity to interact with different teachers. The energy was unmatched!

PBIS Assembly and Students of the Month
In addition to our Spirit Week activities, we had a fantastic PBIS assembly. A big congratulations to our January Students of the Month! This month’s character trait was Courage, and it was inspiring to celebrate students who demonstrated bravery and determination. Keep up the great work!

Reminder for Parents
Please note there will be no school this Friday, February January 31, due to a Professional Development Day. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work to create the best learning environment for your children.

Thank you again to everyone who made this week so special. Here’s to more fun and learning ahead at RM Bacon Elementary! - Dr. Cook, Principal

RM Bacon Weekly - 1/20 - 24, 2025

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

What an incredible week we had at Bacon School! Last week’s Snowflake Shuffle was a huge success, despite the cold temperatures. Our students and staff bundled up and embraced the opportunity to get moving and stay active as part of our Healthy Schools initiative. It was wonderful to see everyone’s energy and enthusiasm shining through even on a chilly day!

This week, we had the chance to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day off on Monday, January 20th. This time offered us all the opportunity to reflect on the powerful impact Dr. King made in promoting equality, justice, and kindness.

Looking ahead, we are excited for this week’s PBIS assembly! On Friday, we will gather to celebrate our students of the month, who have exemplified January’s character trait: courage. These students have shown bravery in their actions, whether by standing up for others, trying something new, or persevering through challenges.

In addition to recognizing individual achievements, we will also announce the results of our class challenges and acknowledge students who earned a “Paws Up” this month. It’s always exciting to celebrate the collective spirit of teamwork and dedication that makes Bacon School such a special place.

We are so proud of all of our students for their hard work and positive behavior. Thank you, families, for your continued support in helping us foster a community of learning, respect, and encouragement.

Stay tuned for more updates next week, and as always, let’s keep striving for excellence together!

Dr. Cook, Principal

RM Bacon Weekly - January 13 - 17, 2025

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

We hope everyone enjoyed last week’s snowy weather! Although winter decided to show off its icy charm, our team is excited to embrace this week with renewed energy and important events to share with you.

Jump Rope for Heart Assembly

On Monday, January 13, we’ll kick off the week with our annual Jump Rope for Heart assembly. This event is a cornerstone of our healthy school initiative, encouraging students to stay active while supporting a very worthy cause. Let’s jump into making a difference together!

PTO Meeting
This Thursday, January 16, we invite all families to join us for our monthly PTO meeting at 5:30 PM in the library. This is a great opportunity to stay involved, share ideas, and collaborate to make RM Bacon Elementary even better for our students.

PBIS Team Meeting
Our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) team will also meet on Thursday to review our program and identify ways to strengthen it. We remain committed to fostering a positive school culture where every student feels supported and valued.

Bear Buddies Program
At RM Bacon Elementary, our Bear Buddies program continues to shine as a tradition that fosters a love of reading across grade levels. This initiative pairs older students with younger peers, creating meaningful mentoring relationships through shared reading experiences. It’s an excellent opportunity for older students to develop leadership skills and for younger students to gain confidence and excitement about books. The program also encourages collaboration among teachers, as they work together to select engaging books and coordinate activities that benefit all students involved. Through Bear Buddies, our school community grows stronger as we nurture a passion for learning and connection.

Looking Ahead:

MLK Jr. Day Reminder

There will be no school on Monday, January 20, as we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This day honors Dr. King’s remarkable legacy of equality, justice, and service to others. We encourage our families to reflect on his contributions and discuss ways we can continue to embody his values in our daily lives. Whether it’s through an act of kindness or learning about his dream, let’s honor Dr. King’s vision for a better world.

Thank you for your continued support, and here’s to a fantastic week ahead!
