We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in Schools) 

Last week at RM Bacon Elementary was filled with celebration, creativity, and community spirit! We kicked things off with a fantastic Staff Appreciation Week, honoring our incredible educators and support staff who go above and beyond every single day. With thoughtful surprises, fun treats, and heartfelt messages, our team felt the love—and we couldn’t be more grateful for everything they do to make Bacon such a special place.

We also had a blast during Spirit Week, where students and staff showed off their Bacon pride in style. Each themed day brought out tons of creativity and enthusiasm, making it a fun and memorable experience for everyone.

Adding to the excitement, we hosted not one, but two amazing performances: our Spring Concert for grades 3–5 and the K–2 Musical! Both events showcased the incredible talents of our students and the joy that music brings to our school. A big thank you to Mrs. Engelhart for her dedication and passion—her work in growing our band and choir programs has truly made a lasting impact on our school community.

Looking ahead, our 3rd through 5th graders will begin the NJSLA (New Jersey Student Learning Assessments) this week. We are confident our students will do their best and demonstrate everything they’ve learned this year. Our staff has worked hard to prepare them, and we’re hopeful these efforts will continue to move us forward as we strive to remain out of the NJDOE accountability system.

Let’s keep the momentum going and finish the year strong—together!

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School) 

May 5th through May 9th, we will be celebrating two important events at RM Bacon Elementary: Staff Appreciation Week and Spirit Week.

Staff Appreciation Week is a time for us to honor and recognize the incredible efforts of our teachers, support staff, and all team members who work tirelessly to support your children every day. Throughout the week, we will have a variety of treats and activities planned to show our appreciation for their dedication.

In addition, Spirit Week will give students and staff a fun opportunity to come together and show their school pride through themed dress-up days. Each day will feature a different theme, and we encourage students to participate and enjoy the celebration.

We’re excited to celebrate the talents of our Bacon Bears during our upcoming Spring Concert and Art Show Week! Under the leadership of Mrs. Englehart and Ms. Peck, our students have been working hard to prepare for these special performances:

• 🎶 Grades 3–5 Spring Concert – Wednesday, May 7th at 6:00 PM

• 🎵 K–2 Sing-Along – Friday, May 9th at 2:00 PM

Both events are open to parents and families—we hope to see you there to support our amazing students!

Support Our Families Impacted by the Millville Fires

R.M. Bacon School is partnering with Texas Roadhouse for a special Donation Night to support our families affected by the recent Millville fires.
