Bacon Bears,
We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)
We had another amazing week at Bacon this week! Currently, our staff and students are focusing on the Second Step program. Second Step assists teachers and students with lessons on social and emotional learning with specifics such as empathy, cooperation and conflict resolution. As part of our school goal, each classroom will be exposed to 12 lessons over the course of the year. We want to thank Mrs. Gant and Mrs. Gandy for leading the staff meeting this month that focused on Second Step!
Our staff also had our monthly professional development session on the ARC reading program. We continue to work on our conferencing, monitoring of reading levels and exposing students to a robust set of books to read. The ARC program has definitley been a welcomed initiative at Bacon!
Mark your calendars
Our Winter Concert is on December 19, 2022 at 6:00 PM. The concert will feature 4th and 5th graders in Band as well as students in 3, 4 and 5 in Chorus.
