Bacon Weekly - 10/28 - November 1, 2024

Bacon's first Harvest Hustle

Bacon Bears,

We are BEARS (Be Excited About Reading in School)

We had an exciting week filled with fun, learning, and community-building! Our Harvest Run was a huge success, and we thank everyone who came out to support our Healthy School Initiative. It was wonderful seeing students, and staff  come together for an afternoon of physical activity and school spirit. Let’s keep that momentum going by making healthy choices every day!

We also launched another round of Bear Buddies last week, with grade levels pairing up to read together. This week our 3rd graders visited Kindergarten classes. It’s a joy watching older students mentor younger ones, fostering friendships and building a love for reading across all grades.

Thank you for the overwhelming support of the 5th Grade Pretzel Fundraiser. They sold 472 pretzels. This far exceed our goals for the first sale of the year. Thank you to the staff, students and families for their generous support!

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for our highly anticipated Halloween Frolic on Tuesday, October 29, from 6-8 PM. Be sure to put on your costumes and join us for a night filled with fun! Here’s what we have planned:

  • Dance Party – Show off your spooky dance moves!
  • Trunk or Treat – Collect goodies from creatively decorated trunks.
  • Haunted Walk – Explore the haunted path, if you dare! Entry is just $1 for each additional walk-through.
  • Food and Refreshments – Satisfy your Halloween cravings!

Tickets for the Halloween Frolic are $3 per person and will be sold exclusively at the event. This event is open to all, so bring friends and family for an unforgettable night!

Our Halloween Parade on the playground at 2:00 PM on October 31, 2024! Students will have the chance to show off their costumes with music, fun, and excitement in the air. Parents are welcome to join us and cheer on our students during the parade. Afterward, the students and teachers will head back to classrooms for Halloween parties, where we’re focusing on keeping it as healthy as possible. We encourage families to send in healthy snacks for the kids, and each classroom will receive a fresh fruit tray from the cafeteria to enjoy.

Lastly, we’re observing Red Ribbon Week, a nationwide campaign dedicated to keeping students drug-free. Throughout the week, students will participate in age-appropriate activities and discussions about making healthy, safe choices. Red Ribbon Week reminds us all of the importance of taking care of ourselves and making positive decisions.

Mrs. Candy's Corner

This week in the cafeteria, Mrs. Candy and her staff supported the Harvest Hustle with Apples, Pears and Oranges. This really helped the kids as the Harvest Hustle was hot! We also had 2 boys using their lunch "trash" to create a way to pass their time.
