Bacon Bears,We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School)
Another week is in the books, and we continue to see great progress and dedication from our students and staff. As we move forward with our School Improvement process, our collective efforts are making a real impact.
Our team has been working hard on meeting our School Improvement goals, and we’re pleased to share that we’ve successfully met two out of four goals so far! One particularly exciting highlight is our reading on-grade-level percentage, which has reached 46%—exceeding our projected expectations. This progress reflects the commitment of both our students and educators in strengthening literacy skills. Here is our updated dashboard - click here.
Our Paws Up initiative continues to thrive, with 673 recognitions given to students this year for demonstrating safety, responsibility, and respect. These acknowledgments reinforce the positive behaviors that make our school community stronger. Keep up the great work!
We also want to take a moment to thank our parents for supporting a safer and more efficient dismissal process by refraining from parking in the staff lot. Your cooperation has helped streamline the process and, most importantly, ensure student safety. We appreciate your partnership in making this a success!
A special shout-out to Mrs. Digorgio’s 4th-grade class for earning a class reward! The students chose to bake a healthy cake with Mrs. Candy, taking part in each step of the baking process. The best part? They generously shared their delicious creation with the entire 4th grade! Thank you to Mrs. Candy and Mrs. Digorgio for fostering a positive learning environment and celebrating student success in such a creative and engaging way.
We are looking forward to an exciting week ahead, starting with the PBIS Bear Bucks Store on Monday, where students can redeem their hard-earned rewards. On Tuesday, our 1st Grade Authors Corner will showcase the creativity and writing skills of our young learners. We’ll wrap up the week with our monthly PBIS Assembly, where we will celebrate our Students of the Month for February and recognize all students who have received a Paws Up for their positive behavior.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our students’ success. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Have a great week, RM Bacon family!
