Bacon Bears,
We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School)
Last week, our school came alive with the joy of reading as we celebrated Read Across America (Bacon)! From our spirited theme days to the inspiring guest readers, it was a week filled with excitement and a shared love for books.
The highlight of the week was our Read-A-Thon, and thanks to our incredible students, families, and supporters, we raised an impressive $5,705! These funds will go directly toward making Fun Day an unforgettable experience for all of our students.
We want to give special recognition to our top Read-A-Thon earners:

📖 Winning Class: Mrs. Lunemann and Mrs. Banker’s class!
A huge thank you goes to Mrs. Lunemann, Mrs. Banker, and Mrs. Starcher for organizing this fantastic event. Because of their dedication, every student had the opportunity to participate and experience the joy of reading together.
We also extend our gratitude to the community members who took time to visit and read to our students. Your support helps foster a lifelong love of reading. A special shout-out to Legacy Lanes and Colonial Florist for their generous sponsorship!

We would also like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to
Mrs. Goldspiel (Mrs. G.), who has been our
Building-Based Substitute this year.
Her dedication, flexibility, and support have made a tremendous impact on our school community. While we are sad to see her go, we are incredibly proud and excited for her as she takes on a new role as a 7th-grade science teacher at Lakeside Middle School.
Thank you, Mrs. G., for all you have done for our students and staff—we wish you the very best in this next chapter!
