We Are BEARS – Be Excited About Reading in Schools!

Back to School Night Success

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Back to School Night 2025! We had a fantastic turnout, and it was the perfect way to kick off our academic year together. The energy in the building was incredible, and it was so meaningful to connect with families, share our goals, and highlight the partnership between home and school. Your involvement sends a powerful message to our students—that their education matters and we are united in supporting their success.

Restricted List – Effective October 1

At Back to School Night, Dr. Cook reviewed our Restricted List Policy, which will go into effect on October 1, 2025.

The Restricted List is designed to promote fairness, accountability, and school spirit by tying participation in special events to academic, attendance, and behavior expectations. Students may be restricted if they:

  • Receive failing grades (F or U) or more than 1 D/S- on a report card

  • Have more than 4 unexcused absences or 6 lates/early dismissals in a marking period

  • Receive 1 major referral, 3 minor referrals, or any suspension in a marking period

The Restricted List will be reviewed before key events such as dances, parades, field trips, and school-wide celebrations. Families will be notified if a student is placed on the list, and an appeals process is available.
