Place Value Party!
Bacon Bears,
We are BEARS! (Be Excited About Reading in School)
Learning and Laughter at Bacon! Last week was full of energy, learning, and community spirit at RM Bacon Elementary!
Our 4th graders had a blast during their Place Value Party, a creative collaboration between Ms. Ruberton and Mrs. Donahue, our Math Coach. Students solved problems, identified place values, and practiced key skills to prepare for their upcoming assessments—all while celebrating their love of math. It was a great example of teamwork, engagement, and fun learning in action!
Meanwhile, in the cafeteria, Ms. Candy and her amazing team hosted another “Why Not? Wednesday”, giving students a chance to try something new—this week’s featured food was peppers! It’s always exciting to see students expanding their taste buds and exploring healthy options.
Family Engagement and School Goals
We also held our first PTO meeting of the year on Thursday. Thank you to all the parents who attended! During the meeting, we approved this year’s fundraising programs (stay tuned for details!) and reviewed upcoming student events. Dr. Cook shared updates on our school goals, including our focus on attendance action plans and the new Retention List initiative to support student growth and success.
Looking Ahead: Halloween Fun and Frolic! October 28, 2025 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Our staff continues planning for the annual Halloween Frolic, one of our favorite traditions. We’re currently seeking cars for our Trunk or Treat—if you’re interested in participating, please reach out to the main office. It’s a great way to get involved and make the event even more memorable for our students!
Fun Friday Finale
We ended the week on a high note with Fun Friday! Music filled the halls as students danced, guessed the song of the week, and teachers competed to be the 6th caller. Congratulations to Mrs. Bingham’s class for winning this week’s challenge!
Think Pink – Friday, October 24
This Friday, we’re encouraging all staff and students to wear pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Let’s show our support for survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and stand together in hope and unity. 💗
It’s always exciting to see our Bacon Bears learning, laughing, and growing together ~ Dr. Cook
