The 49th Annual Olympic Day
What an incredible day for the Bacon Bears at the 49th Annual Olympic Day! Our students represented RM Bacon Elementary with outstanding sportsmanship, effort, teamwork, and school spirit throughout the competition. Whether competing on the track, cheering on classmates, or participating in the parade festivities, our Bears made us proud every step of the way.
I also want to acknowledge the unpredictable weather and the many last-minute decisions that needed to be made throughout the day. As many of you know, the forecast changed constantly, and there were many moving parts involved with transportation, scheduling, safety, and event logistics. Through it all, our staff worked together as a true team to ensure students had a positive experience. Thank you to everyone for your flexibility, patience, and teamwork.
Memorial Day Reminder
Please remember that school will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is a time for us to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is an important opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made for our country and the freedoms we enjoy today. We encourage our Bacon Bears to take a moment with their families to remember the true meaning of the holiday.
FUN DAY – Rescheduled
Our rescheduled FUN DAY will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Please note that this is a student-only event.
Any student who was previously restricted from participating in FUN DAY will continue to be restricted from the rescheduled event.
Following FUN DAY, all students will once again be eligible to participate in field trips and end-of-the-year activities unless they receive a Major Office Discipline Referral. Any future situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis involving the student, teacher, principal, and parent.
Spring Concert & Art Show
We are excited for our Spring Concert and Art Show on Thursday evening!
- Art Show: Begins at 5:30 PM
Artwork will be displayed on the office-level floor. - Spring Concert: Begins at 6:00 PM
Held in the Bacon Gymnasium.
We are incredibly excited to see how much our band and chorus students have progressed since our Winter Concert. Their hard work and dedication have truly been impressive, and we look forward to a wonderful evening celebrating the arts at Bacon.
Kindergarten Field Trip
On Friday, our Kindergarten students will travel to Ocean City for their field trip. We know they are excited for a fun and memorable day together!

Thursday - F Day - Mini Dress Rehearsal, Grade 3-4-5, 9:30 AM (K-1-2 encouraged to attend); Spring Concert - (Art Show, 5:30 PM; Concert, 6:00 PM)
Friday - A Day - Kindergarten trip to OC, 9:30 AM; PBIS Assembly, 9:30 AM (1-2); 10:15 AM (3-5)
