Bacon Bears,
We are BEARS! Be Excited About Reading in School
What a great week at RM Bacon! There is so much to celebrate as we head into Spring Break.
Hoops for Bacon Success
Last week, we hosted a fantastic PTO Hoops for Bacon event. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and came out to support our school community. A special thank you to Mr. Sooy for coordinating such a fun and successful event. It was great to see so many students, families, and staff enjoying time together.
Adopt-A-Road Initiative
RM Bacon is proud to partner with the City of Millville through the Adopt-A-Road program. We held our first cleanup on March 28 and collected approximately 15 full bags of trash along 3rd Street, from the school to the Railroad Tavern.
While we found that much of the litter was not attributed to our students, we believe it is important that our children do not have to walk through that on their way to and from school. This initiative is about taking pride in our school and improving our entire community.
A special thank you to Mrs. Bingham for coordinating this effort. We will have three more cleanup events this year, so please stay tuned for additional information. Please note that volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate.

PBIS Assembly & Students of the Month
We also celebrated our March Students of the Month, recognizing students who demonstrated Resilience. These students were proudly acknowledged and applauded by their peers during our monthly PBIS Assembly.
Our assemblies are always a highlight, and this month was no different. Ms. Berry brought the energy with a fun egg activity that had students engaged and excited.
We also recognized our Golden Award winners in:
-
Special Area classes
-
Cafeteria
-
Classroom cleanliness
These recognitions continue to reinforce the positive culture we are building together every day.
Looking ahead, our April Character theme is Honesty, and we are excited to see our students continue to grow in this area.

Safety Patrol Coin Drive
Please consider supporting our Safety Patrol Coin Drive.
Our Safety Patrol students play an important role each day—arriving early to assist with arrival and dismissal, helping to keep all of our students safe in all conditions.
Donation Week: March 30 – April 2
Students will be collecting donations each morning as they enter the building. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will help support their end-of-year trip.
Thank you for supporting these student leaders.
Undercover Spirit Week
Last week, our staff had some fun with an “Undercover Spirit Week,” and it did not take long for students to catch on. Each day brought a different theme, and it was great to see the creativity and school spirit throughout the building.
Themes included:
Monday: Secret Service (Dress in all black)
Tuesday: Every Day is a Holiday
Wednesday: Tourist Day
Thursday: Zoom Day (Business on top, cozy on the bottom)
