We are BEARS! Be Excited About Reading in School 

Last week, we had the honor of dedicating Max Richter's Eagle Scout Project at Bacon School. We were joined by members of District Administration, the Boy Scouts, community leaders, Max's family, and our entire school community.

During his remarks, Max reflected on his time as a Bacon student and shared how he wanted to give back to the school that helped shape him. His project created a reset area where students and staff can relax, reflect, and recharge. In his speech, Dr. Matt Mazzoni, Superintendent of Schools, challenged our students to make their mark on the world just as Max has done through his service and leadership. We would like to thank Dr. Mazzoni for his continued support of Bacon School, as well as Mr. Schaffer and Mr. Barber for attending and celebrating this special occasion with us.

We also held our End-of-Year Awards Ceremony, where every student was recognized for their accomplishments throughout the school year. In addition, we celebrated our June Students of the Month and recognized the many ways our students have demonstrated academic success, character, and growth.

Another highlight of the week was our first-ever 5th Grade Breakfast. The students had a wonderful time celebrating together as they prepare for their transition to middle school. We were grateful to welcome Ms. Andrews from Lakeside Middle School, who spent time teaching students how to open combination locks and answering questions about the transition to 6th grade. We also appreciate Mr. Barber, Assistant Superintendent, for stopping by to support our students during the event.

Retirement Recognition

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mrs. DiGiorgio and Ms. Veale on their retirements. Both have made a tremendous impact on the students, families, and staff of RM Bacon Elementary School throughout their careers. Their dedication, kindness, and commitment to children have helped shape countless lives. We thank them for their years of service and wish them nothing but happiness and success in this exciting new chapter.

Water Day – Monday, June 22

Students are looking forward to our annual Water Day on Monday! This fun-filled event is always one of the highlights of the school year and provides students with an opportunity to celebrate all of their hard work and accomplishments.

Please remember to send your child with a towel, bathing suit, sunscreen, and a bag for wet clothes. Students should also bring a change of clothes if desired.

We are also excited to welcome Kona Ice, which will be available for purchase during the event. We encourage families to review the pricing information included on the flyer.

We look forward to a fun, safe, and memorable day for all of our Bacon Bears!
